Pinstripes

Boys at McDonalds

Jake just couldn't resist hugs

Eating on the sidelines

What a fun place! My sister and I took the boys to Pinstripes since our plans to go to the pumpkin patch got canceled due to this nasty weather. They have bowling for toddlers for $5 and the parents are free. It wasn't crowded, they supplied fruit and yogurt for the kids and coffee for the moms. I mean even the seats were leather couches with Dr. Oz playing on the big screens. I mean this place is meant for us mothers. It was a great time and I look forward to going again. After bowling we went to McDonalds for some tasty burgers and fries. The boys were extremely good together.

Wisconsin State Fair and Zoo

This past week we went to the Wisconsin State Fair with Paul's side of the family. Its a tradition they have done for years and is always so much fun. Of course bringing kids now is a lot different then when we went and drank beer all day. I do have to say everytime we go there is something new that is fried. This year I noticed Fried Oreos...unbelievable!! Jake talked everyone into going down the giant slide with him..he went down 4 or 5 times and Nick went once. Nick indulged in some vanilla ice cream which he grabbed out of Jakes hands..he must have known it was something good because he really isn't taking to a lot of people food.

My sister and me took the boys to Brookfield zoo on Thursday and they were really funny together. They held hands most of the time and looked at their map every chance they could to let us know where we were. It was really cute.

Pump it up!!

A couple weeks ago we took the boys to pump it up. Jake's a pro but this was Nicholas' first time. When we walked into the room the jumpee's must have been too overwhelming for him because he was crying so hard..then he would open his eyes..look around and then cry again really hard. I took him over to touch the jumpee's so he wasn't afraid. He seemed to warm up a bit so Paul put him down in the kiddie jumpee and he freaked out..I don't think I have ever heard him cry so hard. After watching Jake some more he wanted to join in and loved it. Everytime we go there Jake spends half the time riding around in these police cars..in which he already has one at home.

Melissa's Bachelorette Party

Oh man..what a night. We started off taking a limo from my parents house to downtown. My cousin Nicole was doing a great job flirting with the guys in traffic. We got to Citizen Bar an hour early...so of course we drank. As we were drinking a saw someone I recognized. I couldn't tell from where but I knew she was on a reality show. My cousins thought she looked familiar too but weren't convinced it was really her. We tried googling her from Melissa's phone but had no luck...well as we drank we became more vocal and we just asked her. She is Toni Ferrari from Love Cruise and Paradise Hotel. She was the really rough one on the show but she was actually really nice..she was handing us shots left and right (really good ones)...and she wanted to come out and party with us. We hopped on a trolley and was it fun...we must have sounded like a disaster coming through the city...we definately caused a scene. Melissa Donovan was pretty good, I didn't notice her really wasted until the last trolley ride..and then I didn't find her to say goodbye. I think she had a great time..I know we all did.

Milwaukee Brewers

Paul and his brother Bobby got a once in a lifetime chance to play at the Milwaukee Brewers stadium. The whole family went to see them and what a great time it was. I don't have all the stats on what happened during the game. Between waiting for a half hour for a hotdog, going to the bathroom, going to the bathroom with Jake and running around with Jake it was kinda hard to pay attention. But they had a great time!

hoover's wedding

Hoove doggy got married 2 weeks ago. We had a great time visiting with friends we haven't seen in a long time especially Rush muffin from LA. We missed you though Jenna!! It was a beautiful wedding at the Planetarium downtown and such great weather.

My boys

What a great Fathers Day we had. This was the first year we missed the racetrack for reasons we couldn't control but we ended up seeing the whole family at our house for dinner. I think Paul had a great Fathers Day! Today we hung outside since it is finally sunny and hot and tried out all the sprinkler toys we own..what a great day. Nicholas is starting to take steps and I just can't believe it..but good for him. Here are some pictures of my sweethearts!!!

My vow

Starting today I will be better at blogging..at least once a week to update my friends and family on whats going on. I have been really bad and to be honest I didn't think people really checked it but I got so much crap I guess they do. Whats up with the Perainos: Well we put our house on the market this week in hopes of moving in this terrible economy. We aren't in a hurry which is a good thing but we are anxious to get into a different area of the city. Nicholas is already 9 months and is in the 90% for weight (23 3/4#) and height ( 29.5 in). He is such a wonderful baby. He is so easy going and his favorite things right now are crawling at 80 miles per hour, standing by himself and trying to get the courage to take a step, he loves sippy cups and any table food you feed him. I'm still scared because since he has no teeth I feel like he is going to choke but he hasn't yet and loves it. Tonight he tried pancakes and couldn't stop saying mmmmm. It was too cute. Jake went through a really bad terrible three phase but we have noticed that he is coming around and are hoping it is passing. We have a busy summer as always but wouldn't have it any other way...Lots of fun things to do!!!! I'm not able to post pictures for some reason right now so when I figure it out I will

Were Back!!

Wow again how time flies. My last post was when Nicholas was 4 months. Today he is 6 months and what a little character. He has his doctor visit tomorrow so I will update with his new stats. He is now wearing 6-12 months barely. They are a little long but width wise they fit him right on. My newborn is going to be in 18-24mo - but that makes me sad so I will just squeeze him in these for a little longer and pretend he actually fits in these. He sits up great and plays for a long time before he falls over. He really doesn't care when he falls over though and bumps his head..he just laughs at himself and carries on with what he was playing with. He is seriously one of the happiest babies I have ever met. Jake was a good baby too but I'm not kidding Nicholas smiles all day long. He never wails out..if he gets cranky its either he is hungry or tired. What a little angel. We are finally putting him in his own crib this week. It makes me a little nervous because I can't watch over him but I think its time. Jake will be close by so I'm sure they will take good care of eachother. Nicholas now has tried all the vegetables and fruit and loves them all except for the green ones. He gags at every bite.

Jake has been participating in a lot more playdates now that the weather is getting somewhat better. We signed him up for a Tumble Bees class which he loves so far. Mommy even had fun too! We find out if he got in the preschool we signed him up for in April. Its like we are signing up for college. The process is hilarious to me but whatever if he gets in he gets in if not he is still only 3. My parents took us out to Benihana's and Jake was amazed at how fast the cook could cut the meats and vegetables while making music with his utensils and tossing food into his hat. Its still early because Jake hasn't had the opportunity to cook with me since then but I am curious to see if he tries this himself.

We have a lot of fun things ahead especially our vacation to Florida which we are really looking forward too. Jake is really excited to see Grandma and Papa Hoffman at their new house, the ocean, starfish, and Mickeys castle. He also really wants to go fast on the big jet. This is what he tells us. I love kids imagination!!!

Nicholas is 4 months today!!!

Nicholas loves standing in his saucer...I swear I can't believe he is already in this thing.

Jake teaching Nicholas how to work a computer

Nicholas loves his bath time...he just kicks the water over and over

Wow I cannot believe it. Nicholas had his 4 month check up on his 4 month birthday. He is growing like a weed. He weighs 16lbs. 10oz., is 25 in. long and his head is actually a little smaller than the average kid. Quite opposite of Jake. Everything looks great with him! He had to get 3 shots today and Jake was the cutest big brother. He held Nicholas' hand and said "that's ok Nicholas I'm right here for you" I swear the sayings that come out of his mouth are just too funny and sometimes really cute. Jake has been so good with Nicholas....he always brings a toy to him, gets him a binky when he is crying, and even helps him rollover, which now Nicholas can do quite well. Everyone has their own opinions, however we do not think Nicholas looks like Jake anymore except for his nose.
Paul has gone back to work and I can't believe I'm going to say this but it is easier now that he is back. God please don't punish me for saying that. For some reason the boys are on the same schedule with taking naps, eating, playing...so I now have time to workout everyday. Jake has been so well behaved and now even goes to the bathroom all by himself. He always went on the potty but now he tells me he can do it all by himself..so he pulls up his pants, wipes, and even washes his hands. I think when Paul was off we just didn't have a schedule. we had all the time in the world so we just put stuff off and passed the kids back and forth, Although we miss having daddy at home.
The video I attached is of Nicholas laughing really hard. We found his tickle spot, the upper thigh, he is just too cute.
Today or tomorrow we get to start Nicholas on cereal. I cannot wait because if he had teeth right now I think this kid would eat a steak. I am also taking on the adventure of making my own baby food. Hopefully I will stick with it when the time comes.
